Behavior Procedure

At Town Creek Baptist Church, we are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and Christ-centered environment for all children participating in our AWANA program. To help maintain this environment, we have implemented a discipline procedure that supports positive behavior and outlines clear expectations. By signing this form, parents acknowledge and consent to the following discipline procedures:

Group Attention Procedure – “Five Count” To gain the attention of the entire group, a leader will begin counting aloud from 1 to 5. Children are expected to be silent and attentive by the time the leader reaches 5. This is used to redirect the group and maintain order in a positive and non-disruptive way.

Individual Behavior Procedure – “Three Count” If a child is misbehaving or not following instructions, the leader will use the following three-step warning system: First Count – Verbal warning and redirection. Second Count – Final warning and brief discussion with the child about behavior expectations. Third Count – The child will be removed from the activity for a short time and spoken to by the director or a senior leader. Parents may be notified.

Zero Tolerance for Physical Harm We have a strict no tolerance policy for any form of physical aggression or harm toward another child or adult. If a child physically harms another: The child will be suspended from the AWANA program for one week. If a child is suspended more than twice in a program year, they will be dismissed from the program for the remainder of the year. Our goal is always to work with families to encourage positive behavior and help each child grow in Christ.

We appreciate your support and partnership in making AWANA a safe, welcoming place for every child.

Paper copies of this policy are available at the AWANA Check-in table.

We invite you to attend worship this Sunday at Town Creek. Choose the service time that is right for you - either 9:30 AM or 11:00 AM. Thank you for your interest in our AWANA Ministry.
